Technically speaking we’ve already been in contact with alien life. And we’re the ones who made them.

A NASA project started in the 90’s has had thousands of jellyfish born in shuttles orbiting around the Earth. These jellies were technically born off planet, and the definition of an alien is something that originates from somewhere else. These jellyfish originate from somewhere other than Earth’s surface or oceans. Therefore, they’re aliens!

The space jellyfish apparently don’t like living on Earth once they were brought down. They were born and raised in a low gravity environment, something that isn’t healthy for humans but apparently works great for jellyfish. Once subject to surface levels of gravity they started suffering from symptoms similar to vertigo.
