Edibility Vocabulary: Fast Facts

The term “organic food” as it is commonly used is actually a misnomer. The definition of the term organic simply refers to anything created by a biological process, meaning that the vast majority of food is all technically organic because it comes from biological plants and animals.

The only non-organic thing that humans consume regularly is salt, which isn’t organic because it is a rock created by non-biological processes.
